Windows Vista installation

When you have downloaded the installer to the desktop, right click on the icon and select properties.

When the window opens, select the Compatibility tab.

From this window, under compatibility mode there is a tick box to enable the user to run the installer compatibly with an older version of Windows. Click in the box and from the dropdown menu select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and select OK.

You should now double click on the desktop icon to run the installer and should not notice any difference in use (i.e. there should be no warnings). When the installer has run, the Marketmaker® platform icon will appear on the desktop. You will now need to follow the compatibility procedure again on this icon by right clicking on the icon and selecting properties.

Select the Compatibilities tab on the window that opens up, and then select the option to run the application compatibly with Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

Check the box for the option Run this program as an administrator.

When this is done click on Apply.

Now you need to make the other Marketmaker® executable files run compatibly with Windows XP. To do this you will need to right-click on the Marketmaker® icon, and select properties. Now if we click on the button Open File Location it will open up the file list window.

You can now make the two executables, iiappstart and iiLauncher compatible with Windows XP. You do not need to update the compatibility mode for iiDownloader as this is done when we made the Marketmaker® icon compatible. This is done in the same way as when we did it for the Marketmaker® icon by right clicking on the file, selecting properties, then selecting the Compatibility tab and selecting the box Run this program in compatibility mode for. Finally click Apply
